We had a great time at Sarah’s house where we stayed with our three children, my sister, her children and our two cousins.
We loved the area which was more authentic than the more touristy towns and the parking at the house gave us a chance to rent a car and explore the whole island.
The house is a short and beautiful walk to the village of Megalochori where there are restaurants and a great ice cream store and lovely hotel where our brother was staying and we would have breakfast. The house was big and spacious, comfortable and clean with interesting architectural details. There were also lots of extra beach towels and the kitchen was well equipped.
Our children loved petting the mules that were in the field next door and we went for a mule ride through the village.
Sarah was lovely and very helpful and quick to respond whenever we needed her, finding us a great babysitter and organising a cleaner for us. We had a memorable time and would definitely stay again

We choose this cavern house not only because because it was close to the venue our daughter was getting married in but because it was a cavern house.
Everything was just about perfect. Both Sarah and Mark (the local property manager) could not have any more helpful. The welcome pack was most welcome as we arrived quite late on the day of arrival and a cold can if Mythos went down very well.
There are two great restaurants very close by Metaxi Mas and Anemoloos. We used both twice. The first is a little bit more special and is ideal for an evening meal after a day’s sunbathing whilst the second has a fantastic meze menu which makes for a great long lunch.
Although it only takes about 25 minutes to walk to Kamari car hire is almost an essential e.g. for shopping and visiting the rest of the island. This doesn’t take anything away from the property location as it was a quieter location we were seeking.
All things considered you will have to go a long way to beat this beautiful cavern house.

The cave house was a great choice for us. The location is very central to everything on the island and there are some fabulous places to eat within walking distance.
We were met by Mark and given a very good overview of the house and the local attractions. He even got us a short notice reservation for dinner because were starving after a flight delay.
The house had everything we needed and it was very clean. Mark also came around daily to water and clean to pool.
We were there as 3 couples, but it would work well for a family too.

Sarah was extremely helpful in the run up to our trip and organised the car hire, which was essential for exploring the island, as well as the taxi to / from the airport.
The house itself is large, with lovely views and outside areas for relaxing. The five bedrooms are all well appointed, although we didn't use the separate one by the pool, which is pretty much self-contained. UK Netflix was an added bonus for the children, who also slept in the platform bedroom above the kitchen, which they loved as it was like a tree house.
The kitchen had lots of equipment so cooking was easy.
Others have noted the steps up to the property, which were no problem for us, and the driveway is steep and narrow, which I imagine could intimidate some.
Having the village and the bakery a short walk away was great, and we ate out three times in Megalochori at different places - all excellent.
In short, it's a great place to spend time, but also a convenient central location to explore the island, from Perissa black sand beach in the south to Oia in the north. It's in a 'real' bit of Santorini, with locals living around, as well as donkeys, horses and mules to pet and feed next door! I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

We booked Cavern House Anthea for my daughter’s wedding in Santorini. We wanted a central base to co-ordinate logistics for our extended family who were arriving separately and staying all over the island. We could not have chosen better.
The perfect place to come back to and relax, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and instead of what could have been a stressful time, we had a wonderful holiday around the excitement of the wedding. My daughter and her bridesmaids got dressed and left for the wedding from the House and could not have had a more romantic choice. The House itself is perfectly laid out and equipped with a cosy and private courtyard and a sun terrace with amazing views. The House itself a perfect retreat from the heat of the day.
Sarah could not have been more helpful answering all our questions, offering to arrange car hire and making suggestions. On arrival we were pleasantly surprised to see a large bowl of local fruit and provisions including some local wine! There was a folder in the villa with all the information we needed including directions to the local supermarkets, recommended restaurants and activities. Ira, our House Manager met us at the airport and helped us settle in, going through our options and answering our queries. She was easily contactable and booked the excursions we were interested in as well as organising taxis for us to the wedding venue.

A week in Cavern House Helios was the highlight of our month long trip around Europe. The house was spacious with everything you could possibly want located in a quiet part of Santorini yet within close proximity to everything.
Sarah was an exceptional communicator and replied promptly to all enquiries and made sure that our transfers and car hire were organised before hand. And Panos, the property manager, was an absolute legend! Not only did he deliver a fresh loaf of bread every morning, he was on hand to help organise massages,kayaking trips and a sunset cruise around Santorini. Nothing was too much trouble for him. He made our stay so much more enjoyable and really went out of his way to ensure that all our needs were met.
If you are going to stay somewhere in Santorini, stay here.!! A place with unbelievable views and glorious sunrises, a perfect plunge pool and a wonderful restaurant within an easy walk.
A memorable week which scores a 10 out of 10 for us.

We spent a very pleasant holidays at Sarah’ house: it is fully equipped and located in a peaceful place very near to the most important locations in Santorini and to Kamari beach that is very convenient for kids. The swimming pool was the paradise of my youngest daughter who loved to spend the late afternoon there while we could enjoy a wonderful view. Sarah is very welcoming and helpful.

Very beautiful house in 5’ walking distance to the lovely heart of Megalochori.
Swimmingpool and roof were nice to use everyday. Renting a car is a clever option to visit all hotspots on the island.
Staff/ owner of the house was around and always friendly and helpful.

"Amazing villa, perfect week"

We spent a week at this amazing villa. when we arrived we could not believe how impressive it was, its more like a castle.
Inside was well decorated, clean, spacious and fully equipped with everything you could possibly need.
Outside, there was just so much space, the different terraces offered our group of 12 enough space to really enjoy our holiday without feeling like we were on top of each other.
The pool was a highlight. we loved the location, how peaceful it was, you really do get to unwind here and the views are stunning. the village of megalahori is very beautiful and has some very good restaurants, we loved feggera.
The villa manager was great and knew just about everything about the island, she gave us some great recommendations and also booked us a catamaran trip to the volcano and hot springs where we had a bbq on board, and later in the week, horse riding for us girls. the cleaner came every other day and even babysat for us one night.
Overall, our time at this villa was one of the best holidays we have ever had, a truly fantastic, unforgettable week. would definitely recommend.

From start to finish our holiday on Santorini in Cavern House Anthea was amazing. Sarah was brilliant and could not have been more helpful before and after the holiday and Kimberley was brilliant whilst we were there. Sarah arranged a hire car for us to meet us at the airport and reserved us a table at the local taverna for our first night. Kimberely met us at the airport with the hire car company and then we followed her to the villa where she showed us around and explained everything to us, there is also a very handy book in the villa full of handy tips of what to do, where to go and where to eat.
The villa is absolutely stunning with a picture perfect view, it was also stocked up with items to help get us started on our first day (bread, butter, cheese, ham, fruit, milk, water, beer and wine, what more could you ask for). We absolutely fell in love with the place and the rooftop terrace is perfect for lounging around in the sun topping up that tan. We also fell in love with the 2 comical black cats that roam around near the villa and loved their fuss and we even got the gorgeous ginger cat to have a fuss with us by the end of the holiday as he was a bit wary of us at first......we ended up calling them Huey, Duey & Lewis and would have loved to bring all 3 back home with us.
Santorini is just gorgeous and the sunset just as every bit breathtaking as you can imagine. We spent a good 3 days exploring the beautiful island and the rest just relaxing on the rooftop terrace......heaven :). Thank you again to Sarah and Kimberley for everything, we had the most fab holiday :).

The perfect stay in such a beautiful island! The town where this cavern house is located was so peaceful and quiet, away from the tourist buzz of Fira and Oia, yet just a short drive away from them.
Firstly, before leaving for Greece, Sarah was very helpful with any queries we had via email and gave us all the advice we needed for the start of our holiday, which we really appreciated. Sarah also booked us a table at the nearest taverna for our first night which was very convenient as we wanted to stay in the area on that day. The food was so good!
Once we arrived in Santorini, Kimberley picked us up from the ferry port and took us to the beautiful house! It looks exactly like the photos! Kimberley showed us around and explained everything we needed to know. The information book in the house was very helpful in case we forgot anything or wanted any extra information on what to do in Santorini. The house was very clean and the fridge was already stocked with some necessities such as milk and cheese which was really nice!
Kimberley and Sarah provided us with a good, decently priced car hire service and the car was brought to us the next day to sort.
We really enjoyed the pool and lounge area, it was very nice to just chill there late at night too! We had a couple of relaxed days by the pool and those may be the highlights of our trip!!
We also enjoyed having our breakfast in the outdoor area. There is loads of free space in this house for 6 people! It was just 4 of us so we loved the extra space Visiting Santorini was a dream and staying here made the visit perfect! Definitely want to visit Santorini again and would love to stay here again!

The place is not in one of the major hotspots, but it’s not very far from all the main attractions, especially with a cheap car rental arranged by the host.
The restaurant down the street (Metaxi mas) was the best place we dined at during our stay, we went there twice.
As many have mentioned, the property manager Panos was very attentive. The rooms were beautiful and traditional cave style - very unique!
The terrace had a small pool and lounge chairs, so that was a bonus. I highly recommend this place.

We stayed at this lovely unique villa as a last minute change to our holiday plans (we stayed extra days, and was lucky enough to find this gem to accommodate us)
Mark welcomed us and was really helpful and kind. We could not fault the villa, super clean, equipped with everything we needed and the most amazing views over the neighbouring islands.
The sun terrace was the perfect place to relax with the chill out pool, which was nice and private and the shaded garden was a blessing in the midday sun. Would definitely recommend and we plan to return next year. A big thank you to Sarah and Mark

We had such a fabulous stay at Sarah's villa. All of us were blown away with how special it was and what great spaces the villa provides, from the pool, the roof terrace, to the eating area & BBQ!
Panos was a wonderful host, he sorted out everything that we needed and went above and beyond to make sure we had the best stay possible.
The connections that Sarah/Panos have with various places/activities meant that we managed to see and do everything that we wanted to, with such ease.
We'll certainly recommend to anyone who is thinking of visiting Santorini.

We’ve just returned from Cavern House after a lovely weeks stay.
The area Exo Gonia is nice and quiet and sort of in the middle of the island on a hillside, close to Pyrgos. A car is recommended but there are a couple of very nice restaurants within walking distance from the house.
The house is very pretty, clean and well equipped with good views and the owner is friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome.
I would definitely stay here again if we return to beautiful Santorini.

This cave house was fabulous. Really quirky accommodation with the most amazing sun terrace and splash pool with fantastic views across the island.
The location is great, you definitely need a car, but it's quiet and you feel like you are in the 'real' Santorini. There are some great restaurants nearby, including metaximas, which you can walk to and everywhere is within easy reach by car.
As for the owner Sarah, from our very first communication many months ago, she has been so helpful. She organised private transfers, our hire car, booked restaurants for us and there was a lovely 'welcome pack' with ham bread cheese beer wine etc upon our arrival. Iro the manager was also very helpful whilst we were in Santorini. It really was the most perfect week, our only regret is that we didn't book two!

We just got back from staying at this fabulous villa, if we could give more than 5 stars, we would. We arrived late at night after our flight was delayed, we emailed Sarah, the owner who rescheduled our transfer which made the start of the holiday so easy. The fridge was stocked with lots of goodies including wine which was much appreciated since we arrived late.
The interior of the villa is absolutely stunning, with so much care and attention to detail taken. In the morning, when we saw the outside spaces we knew we were going to spend most of our holiday right here at the villa. Our two children loved the pool, as did we, but there was also plenty of spaces to enjoy some quiet time and most meals were served at the big table on the main terrace
The village of Megalohori is very beautiful with blue domed churches and a bell tower over the small path in to the village. It has a very nice selection of restaurants, a few shops and a bakery which makes ice cream to die for.
We made our way in to the village most evenings for a glass of wine on the roof top wine bar or an ice cream from the bakery. We did go further afield to see the sights of Ia and Fira (which were lovely but very busy) but were always happy to return home to our little paradise.

We are a well travelled family and have stayed in villas and houses all over the world, but this is one of our favourites.
There were 5 of us on this trip and there was more than enough space to feel very comfortable and at home.
The service is absolutely excellent. We were met from the airport, all our cases being carried for us up the pretty lane into the cave house. Panos is a lovely guy who comes every day to drop off fresh bread and provide anything you need from booking trips and restaurants to cleaning out the beautiful pool.
If we go back to Santorini, which we hope to do, we will we would definitely stay here again, great place, great location.

Our stay at Cavern House Anthea was just perfect and Sarah the owner was very helpful. The property is really well finished with a courtyard with overflowing bougainvillea, white walls and painted shutters, it was like a little movie set! Inside was very nice and we really appreciated the cool temparature inside due to the natural rock setting.
The location is really good in ExoGonia as its close to everything and looks down over the land towards the beach, it was easy to walk to Pyrgos also in about 10 minutes for some fantastic views of the caldera at sunset and restaurants.

"Stunning quiet hilltop estate in Santorini"

It was the perfect escape in 2020, situated in the rural village of Megalachori, only a short drive to everywhere on the island. The location is much more laid back than Thira or Oia, which was very much appreciated. It has amazing and and relaxing and everything is setup for lazy days by the pool and a gentle walk to the center of the village for a selection of tavernas in the evening. There is also the family bakery nearby which does amazing food. We found the service to be excellent and the comfort of the accommodation to be outstanding. It's a beautiful property and definitely worth a stay.

We stayed in both properties as a group of 12 adults in September last year and had the most wonderful time.
Evenings spent in the courtyard cooking octopus on the barbeque, long afternoons lazing in the pool and early mornings reading up on the terrace were just perfect.
The restaurant in the village is a real treat too with fantastic food and great service. We have booked again for this year and cannot wait to get back there!

We were very lucky to find Anthea - Kimberly was an amazing host and we loved being in the beautiful village of Exo Gonia, away from the more touristy parts of the island.
It is in a lovely location with a stunning view and the villa itself is charming and spacious. It is also a short drive to the best and most stunning beach on the island - Red Beach - highly recommended!
We also fell in love with the three cats who live nearby - they were so gentle and affectionate, they were the icing on the cake to a perfect stay.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at The Winery Estate and were wowed from the moment we arrived. The restoration of the property is incredible and as previous reviewers have stated the pictures do not do it justice.
It is fully equipped with any and everything you could possibly need and Iro the manager was very friendly and available to help with any queries.
The villa is incredibly spacious with a sunny or cool spot available at all times of day. The outdoor areas are particularly impressive with great views too! The pool is a good size and there is plenty of room for everyone to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.
The location in Megalochori is great, away from the hustle and bustle but with the village, bakery and mini market in walking distance and access to all areas of the island just a short drive away.
Our entire party are still talking about it now and we cannot wait to visit again one day.
